Programmes

The programme is divided into two specialisations: networks and electronic technology. Using innovative methods you will learn to design and set up electronic and technical communication systems. In addition, you will learn how to manage project, quality and resource management in connection with development ant project planning tasks.

You will be given basic insight into the latest computer and electronic technology and how to develop and use it in practice. At the same time, you will receive instruction in analysing and transforming a business's requirements within the area of networks and electronics, and transform the requirements into technical solutions.

Instruction takes place as a combination of team instruction, project work - individually and in groups - based on cross-discipline issues and always in an application-oriented manner.

During the course of your studies you will be in close contact with the business community and you will, for example, write papers in cooperation with both the public sector and private businesses. You will also be an intern in a business in which you can try out your competencies in practice.

The programme is build like:

  • Generel subject that are the same for both specialisations
  • Subject related to the two specialisations, which holds the technical subjects for each specialisation
  • In each specialisation there are optional subjects, where the theme may vary depending on what is relevant and interesting to take up with the purpose to form the program to fit the needs over time
  • Last semester holds an internship and the final project.

General PART: 1st, 2nd, + 3rd semester
Networks and operating systems (5 ECTS), technology (5 ECTS), communication (10 ECTS), management (10 ECTS)

NETWORK TECHNOLOGY: 1st, 2nd, + 3rd semester
Networks (25 ECTS), database and programming tecniques (10 ECTS), advising and consulting functions (5 ECTS), security (5 ECTS)

NETWORK TECHNOLOGY: 2st, + 3rd semester
Optional subject (15 ECTS)

NETWORK TECHNOLOGY: 4th semester
Internship (15 ECTS), final project (15 ECTS)

ELECTRONIC TECHNOLOGY: 1st, 2nd, + 3rd semester
Electronics (25 ECTS), microprocessor systems (15 ECTS), software development (5 ECTS)

General part

NETWORKS AND OPERATING SYSTEM
You will learn to use tools and equipment in connection with designing and testing hardware solutions and building a technical communication system. 

TECHNOLOGY
You will learn to use tools and equipment in connection with designing and testing hardware solutions and building electronic systems.

COMMUNICATION
Instruction will be given on communicating and documenting with regard to both internal and external customer relationships, for example, the presentation of projects. 

MANAGEMENT
Instruction will be given in innovation, project management and business understanding, and you will gain insight into the many aspects of advising and consultation. 

Course of study: network technology 

NETWORKS
You will receive instruction on network design and learn to evaluate technical network solutions in relation to the needs of the business and of the customer.  

DATABASE AND PROGRAMMING TECHNIQUES
You will learn about building, testing and maintaining database systems. 

ADVISING AND CONSULTING FUNCTIONS
You will gain insight into how your network technology knowledge can be used in connection with advising and consulting tasks, for example with regard to technical network solutions. 

SECURITY
You will learn about encryption, certificates, firewalls, access control and server security, among other things.  And you will gain knowledge about how to handle analyses, covering requirements, solution proposals, and the design of security solutions.

Course of study: electronic technology 

ELECTRONICS
Starting with electronic and production techniques, you will learn about building and using test systems and working with construction and documentation of electronic systems, for example, using relevant CAE and simulation tools. 

MICROPROCESSOR SYSTEMS
You will learn to use simulation tools and build test systems. In addition, you will gain insight into construction, product maturing and microprocessor systems.

SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT
Instruction in programming techniques based on transforming a specific task into a technically usable solution, focusing on presenting and documenting the task so that the technical solution can be carried out.    

OPTIONAL SUBJECT
Depending on which course of study you have chosen, various optional subjects are related to it. 

INTERNSHIP
An internship takes place in a relevant business in which you can try out what you have learned in the course of study. The internship takes place after the second semester and is in the course of study that you have chosen. 

FINAL PROJECT
The programme ends with a project in which you specialise within a specific topic.

Examinations

The programme comprises the following five examinations:

  1. The first examination at the end of the second semester must document that the students have fulfilled the learning objectives laid down for the first year of study.
  2. The second examination at the end of the third semester must document that the students have fulfilled the learning objectives laid down for the first three semesters of study.
  3. The third examination at the end of the third semester must document that the students have fulfilled the learning objectives laid down for the management learning.
  4. The fourth examination after the internship must document that the students have fulfilled the learning objectives laid down for the internship.
  5. The last examination is an examination in the final examination project, which, in combination with the examination after the internship training and the other examinations, must document that the learning outcome objectives of the programme have been fulfilled. This examination comprises a project and an oral examination with the participation of an external examiner. One mark will be given for the final examination project. Overview of examinations
