Study Fashion Design, Responsible Sourcing or Fashion Marketing

Design Technologist is a 2 year higher educational programme (120 ECTS credits) with the possibility of continuing on a 1½ year top up bachelor in Design & Business.

During the first part of the programme you acquire an understanding of the entire process of designing, producing and marketing fashion products. We believe you must know the basic processes of the value chain in the fashion industry before you can specialise.

As a student on our international Design Technologist programme you must choose one of the three specialisation subjects: Fashion Design, Responsible Sourcing and Fashion Marketing.

Fashion Design: You learn to create fashion products and collections based on a brand’s values and identity as well as the time spirit.

Responsible Sourcing: You learn to control the fashion production process with regard to the environment and workers in the production countries.

Fashion Marketing: You learn to market and sell fashion products and collections as well as developing and maintaining fashion brands.

Practical and Business Oriented
The Design Technologist programme is business oriented with an equal theoretical and practical focus. The aim is that all theory must be applicable in practice and you will acquire valuable hands on experience through the mandatory 10 weeks internship in a company and department relevant to your study.

We are continuously collaborating with a number of companies to ensure that the Design Technologist education is up to date and relevant to the fashion industry.

Methods of Teaching
Experimenting and business related methods of teaching are emphasized in the programme. Most of the teaching is project-oriented. To ensure that the contents of the study are as relevant and close to professional practice as possible, project assignments will often be based on authentic cases from the industry.

All teaching is carried out in English.

 

Admission requirements

To be admitted into the educational programme of Design Technologist. Students must have an upper-secondary certificate, and well-documented qualifications in mathematic. As an international applicant you will have to take the admission test either at our location in Denmark or via an online entrance examination.
