Here you will find all relevant information about transfer, language requirements and re-admission to KEA's programmes.
Application and admission
Danish politicians have decided that Danish schools of applied sciences (such as KEA) cannot admit new full degree students to English language programmes. This means that we no longer offer new international semesters for full degree students at KEA.
However, it is still possible to go on exchange at KEA or transfer to one of our international programmes started before spring 2022.
Transfer to KEA
In this application form you can apply for transfer to KEA.
You can apply for transfer if you study on the same study programme at another Danish educational institution.
Please be aware that you cannot transfer until you have passed your first-year exam. You must, however, apply during the course of your present semester so you meet the deadlines below.
Only in case of special circumstances can the transfer take place at an earlier time.
Transfer to KEA is on the condition that there are available study places at the study programme in question.
Application deadline
Regarding transfer with study start at KEA in January/February: November 1.
Regarding transfer with study start at KEA in August: June 1.

Re-admission and re-enrolment
If you have previously been enrolled on a programme – either at KEA or another educational institution – and wish to continue on the same programme, certain procedures apply, depending on your situation.
You apply for re-admission if:
- You stopped your study before you had passed the first year.
You apply for re-enrolment if:
- You have passed the first year at the time of dis-enrolment.
-
Conditions
- 5 months must pass from date of withdrawal until new study start.
- If you were dis-enrolled by your educational institution, you must document that you have significantly improved your possibility of completing the programme.
- You meet the admission requirements for admission to the programme
- If you apply for re-enrolment, there must be a vacant study place on the programme. If you apply for re-admission, you will be assessed on equal terms as new applicants.
- The history of your course of study on the programme will still be valid. This means that past circumstances, such as used exam attempts or exceeding the maximum prescribed period of study, will be included in the assessment of your application.

Credit transfer?
What is a credit transfer?
Credit transfer means that you may be eligible for exemption from certain exams or courses of your study. Credit transfer may be relevant for you who have already completed parts of or an entire Danish or foreign programme of higher education.
If your application for credit transfer is approved, you may be able to shorten the duration of a given programme at KEA.
An application for credit transfer is not an application for a study place nor an offer of a study place.
-
What course credits can be transferred?
Generally, you can be granted credit for courses or exams of a similar educational programme completed at another educational institution.
In some cases, you may be granted credit for courses or exams completed at a different Danish or foreign study programme. In any case, you must be able to document that you have acquired the qualifications and skills stated by the learning objectives for each subject.
-
How is a credit transfer granted?
Credits are transferred on the basis of a tangible assessment of your application and documentation. When you apply for admission, it is your duty to inform KEA about the programme of higher education that you have completed in whole or in part.
KEA is obligated to assess whether or not you can be granted a credit transfer.
You are to include a motivational letter with your application for admission where you specify which credits you believe to be transferable to your KEA study programme
Remember to attach any relevant documentation. The documentation must consist of a detailed description of the programme, including documents such as programme regulations, curriculum etc.
If you apply for a credit transfer based on employment, you must document your qualifications and skills through references and pay slips.
If you have any doubts as to how to apply, you can contact the student counsellor.
